"America is the enemy of all the peoples," ((Arabic: "Amrika 'udu kul al-shu 'ub,")) intoned Sheikh Ismail Nawada in the broadcast address from the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the Old City of Jerusalem.

"What is happening in Palestine is something that could happen to any people," declared Sheikh Nawada, linking the "plight" of Muslims in Afghanistan and Palestine and the "aggression" of America and Israel.

The sheikh, whose salary is paid by Arafat's PA, also called for the re-conquest of "all of Palestine" because it was part of "Dar al-Islam"-"the house of Islam."

It is classical Islamic theology to contend that any land conquered by Islam must be retained within Islamic sovereignty, rather than under the "kufr" or "infidels" in Arabic.

During his half-hour speech today, Sheikh Nawada referred directly and obliquely to Israel and the United States as powerful "infidels" whose defeat would not be achieved easily.

Sheikh Nawada counseled patience, citing a famous verse in the Quran, Islam' s holy book: "Allah ma'a sabriyyeen"-"God is with the patient."

The broadcast of the virulently anti-American and anti-Israeli mosque address on Palestinian state radio came only three hours after the Voice of Palestine reported that "diplomatic sources say that the American administration is not moving forward with calls to cut relations with the (Palestinian) National Authority."

Less than an hour before the mosque speech, a helmeted Palestinian suicide bomber drove his motorcycle into a coffee house in Tel Aviv, blowing himself up with a bomb that wounded 16 Israeli civilians, at least one in critical condition.

Using motorcycles in terror attacks was a frequent pattern in Lebanon and Syria during the 1970's and 1980's, and Syria even banned the use of motorcycles for a time when they were used by the Muslim Brotherhood in attacking Syrian officials. But it was not immediately clear which Palestinian terror organization was responsible for today's attack in Tel Aviv, though initial speculation was that it was either a member of Arafat's Fatah Tanzeem militia or the HAMAS, the Islamic organization whose routes are in the Muslim Brotherhood.

There have been growing signs of cooperation between Arafat's Palestinian Authority, the Fatah Tanzeem and the HAMAS in the last two months.

Official spokesmen of HAMAS, which means "zeal" in Arabic, have threatened "full-scale war" against Israel in recent days, following Israel's destruction of a HAMAS bomb factory this week in which Israeli forces seized more than 100 ready-made bombs for use.

Israeli forces also killed the four HAMAS bomb makers defending the explosives laboratory which was equipped with scores of detonators, mobiles phones rigged as bombs, hundreds of pounds of explosives and metal ball bearings to make the bombs more lethal.

The four HAMAS bombers were immediately embraced as "sacred martyrs" by the Palestinian state media. Three of the dead "martyrs" were on lists of "wanted men" passed along by Israel to Arafat via U.S. negotiator Anthony Zinni, a former U.S. Marine general who has been trying to jump-start Israeli-Palestinian talks.

Earlier this morning PA state radio cited "Western diplomatic sources" as saying that the Bush Administration was likely to re-send Zinni back to the Middle East shortly to rekindle Palestinian-Israeli talks.

Today's bombing in Tel Aviv was the third major Palestinian terror attack in one of Israel's major cities in the last eight days. The first two attacks-on the main street of Jerusalem and inside a celebration hall in Hadera-- were claimed by the Fatah Tanzeem. The attacks were not condemned by the Palestinian Authority, but rather described as "military operations" or "armed operations." Eight Israelis have been killed and more 90 wounded in those three attacks alone.

More than 260 Israelis have been murdered in the Palestinian-Israeli war of attrition that the Palestinians have nicknamed the "Al-Aqsa Intifada" or "the second Intifada."

Intifada means "shaking-off" in Arabic. The first "intifada" was launched by local Palestinians against Israel beginning in late 1987, employing demonstrations, stone and, later, gasoline bombs and some shooting.

Its two greatest political achievements were forcing Jordan's King Hussein to recant ties to the West Bank (in July 1988) and spurring the US-PLO dialogue that officially began in December 1988 at the behest of then-President-elect George Herbert Walker Bush.

The second Intifada began in September 2000 with organized attacks by the PA police after Arafat turned down various Israeli negotiating proposals as well as those of then-President Bill Clinton under which Israel was to cede control of nearly all the West Bank and much of Jerusalem to Arafat's control.

PA Mufti Calls Upon Muslims Not To Join U.S. Coalition Against Terrorism

On Friday September 28, 2001, during the sermon in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, PA Mufti, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, called upon Muslims to oppose the U.S. coalition against terrorism and encouraged them not to fear the U.S. Following are excerpts from the sermon:

"Oh Muslims, oh brothers, believers, everywhere, our Prophet used to deal in Friday's sermons with current events of his time and I will follow him and also discuss some religious rulings connected to the current international events following the [attacks] that took place in America on the 11th of this month."

"First, there is a religious legal rule that man is innocent, namely, in Islam, a human being is innocent until he is proven guilty. It is not allowed to blame a human being and then tell him 'prove you're innocent.' Therefore we tell America: 'It is forbidden to accuse a person before the beginning of the investigation.'"

"Until now, the American administration could not present proof to convict the accused in the [attacks] in New York and Washington, [because] it is possible that there are other elements inside America who carried out these [attacks]. [Since] those who flew the planes were professionals and had significant technical knowledge."

"Second, Allah says: 'It is forbidden to throw on one person the burden of another.' Therefore, we are not allowed from the legal religious point of view to throw on a person the responsibility for a deed done by another person. It is forbidden from the legal religious point of view to kill innocents, since the comprehensive war does not leave out anything; it kills innocents, it burns trees, it destroys homes and economies."

"The aggressor will not be secure in his country, just like the party that was attacked. In as much as it is forbidden to kill innocents in America, it is forbidden to kill innocents in Palestine, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other countries."

"Third, our Prophet says in a long tradition (Hadith): 'It is forbidden for a Muslim to go against another Muslim, against his life, his properties, and his honor (wife).' It is forbidden from the religious legal aspect that a Muslim would kill another Muslim; this killing is regarded as a severe sin. There are tens of verses, and hundreds of traditions that forbid it. It is far more sinful for a Muslim to ask for the help of a non-Muslim to kill another Muslim. This is a grave heresy. Allah says in the 'Chapter of the Cow' [in the Koran] that 'heresy is worse than killing.' 'Preserve Allah's edicts oh rulers, and be careful with your deeds.'"

"Allah says in another verse: 'You should fear Allah if [indeed] you are believers.' In another place he says: 'Do not fear them, but me if [indeed] you are believers.' The belief is the basis for fear of Allah. He who does not fear Allah is shaken in his belief or lacks belief. We trust a Muslim who fears Allah but does not fear human beings."

"Oh Muslims, brothers in faith everywhere, from the pulpit of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque we call upon America, the superpowers and the states that aligned in a military pact, we tell all of them: 'No to war, because it brings hardships on all mankind.' [We say] no to the killing of innocents, no to the killing of elderly women and children, no to [being under your] guardianship. 'No to [your] intervention in other peoples' issues. No to imperialism, no to occupation.' We tell the Muslims: 'You have to unite around the Koran and the Sunnah [the conduct] of his messenger, the Prophet Muhammad.'"

"War will continue until we vanquish the Jews and enter Jerusalem as conquerors, and enter Jaffa as conquerors"

As it does every week, Palestinian Authority Television broadcast the Friday sermon at the Sheikh 'Ijlin mosque in Gaza. This week, the preacher was Sheikh Ibrahim Madhi, who also lectures on water and ecology at Al-Aqsa University in Gaza. Following are excerpts from the sermon, which was interrupted in the middle due to technical problems.

"Oh beloved of Allah, We must always remember who the Jews are, what they believe regarding Allah, what their position is regarding the prophets and apostles, and what they say about them in their holy books that is, in the books they claim are holy. [We must always remember] their view of the Prophet Muhammad, and their corruption in the world, particularly in the Arab and Islamic world."

"Oh beloved of Allah, who are the Jews? Regarding their belief about Allah: The Jews have said that the hand of Allah is fettered in chains; [but] it is their hand that is fettered in chains, and they are cursed for their words? According to the Jews' belief, as it is written in some of their holy books, such as the Talmud, Allah divides his time into three parts. One third of the time he weeps. Why? Because his [chosen] people are dispersed in all directions. Another third he spends playing with the whales, and the final third he spends doing nothing in particular. This is their perverted belief about Allah?"

[At this point the broadcast was interrupted due to technical problems.]

"Oh beloved of Allah? One of the Jews' evil deeds is what has come to be called 'the Holocaust,' that is, the slaughter of the Jews by Nazism. However, revisionist [historians] have proven that this crime, carried out against some of the Jews, was planned by the Jews' leaders, and was part of their policy. These are the Jews against whom we fight, oh beloved of Allah."

"On the other hand, [what is our belief] about the Jews? Allah has described them as donkeys who must carry the books of the Torah, but they have not carried them. Our belief, which is true, about the Jews is that Allah is angry at them. They are cursed with the curse of Allah in this world and in the hereafter. Therefore, we say to them out of friendship: 'Oh Jews, come to your senses, return to the true faith; you must convert to Islam?'"

"Our belief is that this war, between us and the Jews, will continue to escalate until we vanquish the Jews and enter Jerusalem as conquerors, [and] enter Jaffa as conquerors. We are not merely expecting a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital; we are heralding [the creation of] an Islamic caliphate with Jerusalem as its capital?"

"Oh beloved of Allah, as we always say: When the battles between the Muslims and infidels begin, the martyrs and the slain Muslims will reach Paradise? in contrast, those who die not for the sake of Islam, after the deliverance of the message of the Prophet Muhammad? will end up in the fires of Hell?"1

Friday Sermon on PA TV: "Blessings to whoever saved a bullet to stick it in a Jew's head."

The following excerpts, broadcasted on PA TV, are from the Friday sermon [August 3, 2001] given by Sheik Ibrahim Madhi at the Sheik 'Ijlin Mosque in Gaza:

"...Oh lovers of Allah. After the leaders of the Jews declared the "Hell" plan[1], we say: Yes, we accept the challenge, if this is the "Hell" plan. Then our dead [will reach] Heaven and their dead [will reach] Hell, Allah willing. This Jihad activity will continue, whether they like it or if it upsets them. Why do we complicate things. This is Jihad: Either victory or Martyrdom..."

"The states called the 'ring-states' [i.e. bordering Israel] - what are they good for? What are they worth? Do they protect us from the Jews, or do they [in fact] protect the Jews from the Mujaheedin in the name of Allah? We have said to them and we keep saying: 'Continue to guard your thrones and bellies, continue to protect your capitals, and let the Mujaheedin saturate this blessed land with their pure and untainted blood. Then, the Jews will see miracles from us.'"

"A young man said to me: 'I am 14 years old, and I have four years left before I blow myself up amongst the Jews.' I said to him: Oh son, I ask Allah to give you and myself Martyrdom...'"

"Oh lovers of Allah, we must state clearly: 'There is no difference between the National and Islamic [forces], we are all forces for the sake of Allah. We, the Muslims on this good and blessed land, are all - each one of us - seekers of Martyrdom. We do not know when the bombardments come. If the Jews only knew... that if they bombard us, the Arabs would bombard their villages and cities, they would hesitate a thousand times...'"

"We must all seek a role in the Jihad and the battle. We said and we still say: 'Even if we, the entire [Palestinian] people, stood in line and signed for the Jews that we want peace, they would not accept it. The Koran is very clear on this: The greatest enemies of the Islamic nation are the Jews, may Allah fight them...'"

"The Palestinian people should cure its wounds; we must forget our differences. There is no place for blood-vengeance. Our enemy is very clear. All weapons should be directed towards him. Why do we see weapons that are directed on one another?... All spears should be directed at the Jews, at the enemies of Allah, the nation that was cursed in Allah's book. Allah has described them as apes and pigs, the calf-worshipers, idol-worshipers... they have said that we are cockroaches and ants and that they should kill us, but we approach them with the words of Allah: '...Whoever wants to save himself, should enter to the true religion - Islam - and repent, and then there will be no problems between him and us, our rights will be his and his obligations will be ours. However, he who came to this land as an invader and did not enter the religion of Allah, should go back to the place he came from, or else, our spears will reach him, Allah willing.'"

"Oh beloved, the Jews want to throw us under a wall of despair [and claim] that we are destined to die. We say: 'We accept this challenge. Any one of us who dies, will reach Heaven, Allah willing. I ask Allah that we would meet him as Martyrs for his sake. I ask Allah that our dead will be in Heaven...'"

"Whoever can fight them with his weapons, should go out [to the battle]; whoever can fight them with a machinegun, should go out; whoever can fight them with a sword or a knife, should go out; whoever can fight them with his hands, should go out; This is our destiny. The people who are the most hostile toward the believers are the Jews and the Polytheists... The Jews have exposed their fangs. Nothing will deter them, except the color of their filthy people's blood; nothing will deter them except for us voluntarily detonating ourselves in their midst. They have nuclear power, but we have the power of the belief in Allah..."

"The Prophet [Muhammad] said: 'The Jews will fight you, and [Allah] will establish you as rulers over them...' We blow them up in Hadera, we blow them up in Tel Aviv and in Netanya, and in this way, Allah establishes us as rulers over these gangs of vagabonds. The Jews fight you, but Allah will establish you as rulers over them. Until the Jew would hide behind a stone or a tree, and the stone or the tree would say: Oh Muslim, Oh servant of Allah, a Jew is hiding behind me, come kill him, with the exception of the Gharqad tree which is the tree of the Jews...'"

"In several years, Allah willing, we will enter Jerusalem as conquerors, to Jaffa as conquerors. To Haifa as conquerors, to Ashkelon as conquerors. We are certain that victory is near..."

"Blessings for whoever assaulted a soldier... Blessings for whoever has raised his sons on the education of Jihad and Martyrdom; blessings for whoever has saved a bullet in order to stick it in a Jew's head"

A Friday Sermon on PA TV: " We Must Educate our Children on the Love of Jihad"

During the Friday sermon broadcasted live on July 6, 2001 on PA TV, from the Sheik I'lin Mosque in Gaza, PA employee, Sheik Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Madhi, called for Jihad education and for turning Jews and Christians into Ahl-Dhimma [protected second rate citizens] under Muslim rule. Following are excerpts from the sermon:

"...Oh, you who love Allah, in the Koran we read our Lord's words, that we must fight all the polytheists just as they fight all of you... Oh, you who love Allah... This [Muslim] nation has left the leadership of the human race to a handful of contemptible Jews and their assistants and was satisfied [with its position at] the tail of the convoy..."

"The Palestinian people has decided that this blessed Intifada would continue. We sacrifice as many prisoners, martyrs, and wounded as we can; we will continue the Intifada until the land of Palestine is liberated. We will not be satisfied with the mere establishment of a Palestinian state; the Muslim people of Palestine want to meet Allah and we are the soldiers of the Caliphate, that was announced by the Prophet [Muhammad]... Therefore, the Caliphate will be in accordance with the prophecy, in Al-Aqsa, in Jerusalem, and in its surroundings..."

"Oh, you who love Allah, the signs of the victory are many... Oh, you who love Allah, do not believe the joke of peace. By Allah, do not believe the joke of peace. Even if the Palestinian people here and in the Diaspora will stand in line and sign [on an agreement] with all ten fingers, and even with the toes of their feet, and we will say: 'We all want peace with you' - by Allah, they [i.e. the Jews] do not want peace..."

"Even if they slaughter all of the Palestinian people and the only survivors will be one single Palestinian baby girl and one single Palestinian baby boy, the baby boy will marry the baby girl and they will give birth to the one who will liberate Jerusalem from the defilement of the Jews."

"Victory is drawing near, but believe me, there is a secret resolution, decided upon by, unfortunately, many of the Arab and Muslim nations. While they [the Palestinians] sacrifice the last Palestinian child and the last Palestinian fetus, they [the Arab nations] will satisfy themselves with victories on the soccer courts, with music festivals, and with Arab and Muslim summits. Where are the summits, where are their decisions?... It was rightly claimed that a thousand verbal shells cannot compare to one shell made of iron. It was rightly claimed that what was taken by force will be regained only by the use of force."

"We must prepare ourselves in accordance with the religion of Allah and the Law of Allah. We must educate our children on the love of Jihad for the sake of Allah and the love of fighting for the sake of Allah."

"We welcome, as we did in the past, any Jew who wants to live in this land as a Dhimmi, just as the Jews have lived in our countries, as Dhimmis, and have earned appreciation, and some of them have even reached the positions of counselor or minister here and there. We welcome the Jews to live as Dhimmis, but the rule in this land and in all the Muslim countries must be the rule of Allah... Those from amongst the Jews and from amongst those who are not Jews who came to this land as plunderers, must return humiliated and disrespected to their countries."

"On the other hand, those Jews who are local and who have lived with the Palestinian people and with the locals from amongst the Christians - there is nothing bad with their living [amongst us] in harmony and peace. This is the kind of peace we understand. The Arabs and Muslims must speak, because our choice is the Jihad for the sake of Allah..."

"Oh, you who love Allah, there is no alternative to the true return to Allah. Victory will not come from the Kremlin, neither will it come from the White House decisions, or from Arab and Islamic summits. Victory is from Allah..."

Later in the sermon, Sheik Al-Madhi focused on the need to refrain from taking credit for terrorist attacks, while using Muslim history as an example to follow:

"...Oh, you who love Allah, it is our duty to strive so that all our deeds will be [only] for the sake of Allah. Listen to the following precious story:"

"In one African country, a Muslim army was fighting against the Byzantine army. The number of the Byzantines was more than ten times the number of the Muslims... The Byzantine commander was Gregorius and his daughter was by his side. Gregorius' daughter said: 'My father, who are these, they are merely a handful, their number is small, no more than 15,000, who are they?' He answered her: 'These are the Arab horsemen.' She said: 'My father, give them to me as spoils.' And he had given her [their property's worth] as spoils, before the battle even took place. However, Allah wanted Gregorius killed in the battle and his daughter to be one of the captives."

"The commander of the Muslim army wanted to know who killed Gregorius, but nobody answered."

"This is how we should also act: Do, do, and do, but without talking."

"Who killed Gregorius? Gregorius' daughter said to the commander of the Muslims: 'I know who killed my father.' And when Abdallh Ibn Al-Zubeir passed next to her she said: 'Oh, commander of the Muslims, this is the man who killed my father.' [The Muslim commander asked him:] 'Oh, Abdallah Ibn Al-Zubeir, why did you conceal this from us?' What did Abdallah Ibn Al-Zubeir say in response? His words still echo in the ear of history. He said: 'Allah knows I killed him.'''

"Allah knows what we do and there is no necessity for humans to know this as well. With such noble values, the [Muslim] nation shall win..."

Friday Sermon on PA TV: Calling for Suicide Bombings

Every Friday, the PA television broadcasts a live sermon from one of the Gaza mosques. On June 8, 2001, a week after the Tel-Aviv suicide bombing and a few days following Arafat's declaration regarding the cease-fire, a sermon by Sheik Ibrahim Madhi was broadcast from the Sheik 'Ijlin Mosque. In his sermon, Sheik Madhi preached for 'martyrdom operations' and for the destruction of Israel, the United States, and Britain. Following are excerpts from the sermon:

"...I tell you, Oh beloved, that ever since Kamal Ataturk [founder of modern Turkey], this Jew who disguised himself as a Muslim -- and there may still be in the Arab nation Jews who disguise themselves as Muslims... ever since he announced the end of the Islamic Caliphate in Istanbul -- as some contemporary religious sages assert -- the era preceding the end [of days] has began -- the era of the military rule, the era of revolutionary rule. Allah willing, we are at the end of this era and Allah willing, the Caliphate will return, in accordance with the prophecy, and I pray that we will be among its soldiers..."

"Allah is almighty. Had He wanted - He would have beaten them. But He tests you in suffering. We must prepare the ground for the army of Allah that is coming according to the [divine] predetermination. We must prepare a foothold for them. Allah willing, this unjust state will be erased -- Israel will be erased; this unjust state, the United States, will be erased; this unjust state, Britain, will be erased -- they who caused this people's Nakbah [the 1948 'catastrophe']..."

"Oh beloved, we must be certain that victory will come. Shame and remorse on whoever refrained from raids [against the enemy] or refrained from preaching to himself [to raid]; shame and remorse on whoever refrained from raising his children on Jihad; shame and remorse on whoever hated his Muslim brother while loving one of the infidels; shame and remorse on whoever hid behind excuses that have no basis with Allah..."

"Blessings to whoever waged Jihad for the sake of Allah; blessings to whoever raided for the sake of Allah; blessings to whoever put a belt of explosives on his body or on his sons' and plunged into the midst of the Jews, crying "Allahu Akbar, praise to Allah, There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His messenger."'

"Just as the building collapsed over the Jews in their sinful dancing floor [referring to the collapse of a wedding hall in Jerusalem] -- I pray to Allah that this oppressive Knesset will collapse over the heads of the Jews."

"Allah, forgive us our sins,
Allah, show us a black day for the Jews, like the day of 'Aad and Thamud
Allah, turn them into pillage for us
Allah, we strive for martyrdom for your sake...
Allah, we strive for your mercy and your paradise..."

'Army of Allah'

Sheik Ibrahim Madhi's sermon was carried live from the Sheik Ijlin Mosque in Gaza last Friday. A translation was made available this week by the Middle East Media Research Institute, an independent media analysis organization.

Madhi told Palestinians Allah could have delivered them instantaneously but was testing them through the things they were suffering. In the meantime, they needed to make preparations for the destruction of Israel, the U.S. and Great Britain.

"We must prepare the ground for the army of Allah that is coming according to the [divine] predetermination. We must prepare a foothold for them," Madhi said.

"Allah willing, this unjust state ... Israel, will be erased; this unjust state the United States will be erased; this unjust state Britain will be erased - they who caused this people's nakba ," he said.

The nakba ("catastrophe") to which Madhi referred was what the Palestinians call the 1948 creation of the State of Israel. One viewpoint held in the region is that the West - particularly the U.S. and Britain - planted a Jewish "colony" in the midst of the Arab Middle East with the aim to conquer it.

Madhi hurled "shame and remorse" on anyone who refrained from raids against the enemy, who didn't raise his children on jihad (holy war), or who hated his Muslim brother "while loving one of the infidels."

He bestowed blessings on those who fought against the enemy and he praised acts of "martyrdom."

"Blessings to whoever waged jihad for the sake of Allah; blessings to whoever raided for the sake of Allah; blessings to whoever put a belt of explosives on his body or on his sons' and plunged into the midst of the Jews, crying ' Allahu Akbar' [Allah is greater]."

Madhi also prayed that the roof of the Israeli parliament would collapse on Jewish lawmakers just as the floor of the Jerusalem banquet hall collapsed under Jewish wedding guests nearly three weeks ago.

Israel suffered its worst civil disaster ever when the third floor of the hall collapsed in May, leaving 23 dead and more than 300 injured.

Oron said that this kind of incitement has been going on for years and was not merely a response to the election of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who is vilified in the Arab world.

It was rampant during the terms of the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin - who initiated the peace process with the PLO - and that of Ehud Barak - who offered more than any of his predecessors to the PA in exchange for peace.

Nobody could argue that it had anything to do with whether Israel has a right or left-wing government, she added.

Israel has complained that the PA has fueled street violence and the desire of Palestinians to fight by using its official media and newspapers to incite the public to perpetrate attacks against Israel.

The U.S.-sponsored Mitchell commission - accepted by both Israel and the PA unconditionally - recommended that all incitement in the media be stopped as part of the first stage of halting violence.

The Highest Ranking Palestinian Authority Cleric In Praise of Martyrdom Operations

On May 25, 2001, one week before the bombing of the discotheque in Tel-Aviv, the PA Mufti of Jerusalem and Palestine (appointed by Arafat), Sheikh 'Ikrimeh Sabri, the highest-ranking cleric in the PA, delivered the Friday Sermon in the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Sheik Sabri spoke in praise of martyrdom ['suicide'] operations, citing early Islamic history. He also criticized the Mufti of Saudi Arabia who declared such operations as religiously illegitimate, and demanded the release from American jails the four Arabs convicted in the World Trade Center bombing in New York. Following are excerpts from the sermon[1]:

"Oh Muslims, let me begin my sermon with a quote from the words of the Prophet's companion Abdullah Ibn Rawwaha in a speech he delivered to his army on the eve of the Battle of Mu'tah." He said: "Oh People, I swear by Allah, that the thing you hate [meaning death] is what you are going out to seek today: The Shahada [Marytrdom]."

"We are not fighting with a large army, nor with force. We are fighting only with this religion [Islam] with which we have been blessed by Allah. So attack and you will gain one of two blessings: either victory or martyrdom. In the eighth-century, the Muslim army consisted of only 3,000 soldiers, while the large Roman army exceeded 100,000. The commanders of the Muslim armies discussed [the plans for] the battle and decided to go into battle and clash with the masses of Roman soldiers despite the fact that they [the Muslims] had a small number of people and a small amount of weapons."

"Oh Muslims, 'the first commander of the Muslim army sacrificed his life in the Battle of Mu'tah. It was the Prophet's companion, Zayd Ibn Al-Haritha. So the command was taken over by the next commander, the companion Ja'far Ibn Abu Taleb who came down off his horse and launched an attack into multitudes of Romans until his right hand palm was cut off. He passed the banner to his left hand but that one too was severed. He still continued to hold the banner of the flag between the two stumps where his hands had been, until he was struck by a Roman soldier."

"It was a hard hit that cut his body in two. In his body there were 50 stabbings, none of which entered in his back because he did not retreat. He faced the enemy and was amongst them. That is the nature of believers who do not retreat at the time of the assault. And I ask : Is Ja'far's breaking into the ranks of the enemy regarded as suicide? No, God forbid. No! It is martyrdom for the sake of Allah. The Prophet named him Ja'far, the Flyer, because Allah granted him two wings when he reached paradise, in place of his two hands cut off in the battle. He persisted in the battle and in attacking the enemies ranks until he died as a martyr."

"We tell this to those who think it is an act of suicide [referring to the Mufti of Saudi Arabia][2]: "Be careful with your religious rulings."

"Oh Muslims. Oh believers, the Prophet's companion, Abdullah Ibn Rawwaha, was the army's third commander. He took the flag and fought until he was martyred. The Muslim soldiers were perplexed because they had no commanders left, since the three commanders who were appointed by the Prophet, were already martyred. The soldiers were about to retreat, but then, the Prophet's companion, 'Uqbah Ibn Abi 'Aamer, said to them: "Oh people, a man is better off being killed with his face to the front than while withdrawing'. Yes, Oh Muslims. The soldiers realized their situation and agreed on appointing as Emir, the noble and heroic, Khaled Ibn Al-Walid, who managed, by his wisdom, his ability, and military skills, to save the army from total destruction. This was the first battle that was commanded by Khaled Ibn Al-Walid since he embraced Islam. When he took the flag that day, he fought fiercely. On the second day, he devised a brilliant plan for withdrawal, sustaining only minimal casualties."

"Oh Muslims, when the Prophet sent the army to Mu'tah, he gave them the following instruction: 'conquer in the name of Allah, fight the enemies of Allah and your enemies in Al-Sham [Syria]. You will find innocent people there. Do not harm them. Do not kill a woman. Do not kill a child. Do not uproot a tree, and do not destroy a house.' This is our great Islamic religion. It encourages good ethics and high morale in days of peace, as well as in days of war."

"On the other hand, our enemies destroy houses, kill children, destroy wells, disconnect water, and uproot trees. They prevent pregnant women from reaching hospitals and they are forced to give birth by the side of the road. They use warplanes against defenseless citizens. Yes, they are occupiers and not owners of any sovereignty..."

"They think that they scare our people. We tell them: in as much as you love life -- the Muslim loves death and martyrdom. There is a great difference between he who loves the hereafter and he who loves this world. The Muslim loves death and [strives for] martyrdom. He does not fear the oppression of the arrogant or the weapons of the blood-letters. The blessed and sacred soil of Palestine has vomited all the invaders and all the colonialists throughout history and it will soon vomit, with Allah's help, the [present] occupiers."

"Oh those who pray, you have brothers wrongly and aggressively jailed in America. They have been forgotten. They were charged with false claims about the bombing of the World Trade [Center] in New York. We, from the Al-Aqsa Mosque and on your behalf, demand the release of these prisoners, who are monotheistic Muslims."

Friday 9 February 2001, Hijri 16 -thul'Qi'dah (11) - 1421 Truly the Pagans are unclean In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

"I witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His messenger. Dear my brothers, Allah says in his noble Quran "O ye who believe! Truly the Pagans are unclean" . This is general, which includes Sharon and other disbeleivers, no difference between Barak and Sharon or even the disbeleivers in the rulers of the muslim world."

"Oh muslims, There is a danger on muslims from their rulers. The rulers are using the blood of the martyrs to stabilize their rule and to help the imperialist disbelievers in controlling the region. The muslims are so scared from their rulers. Lowness is allover. Lying had spread out in the muslims because of these corrupt rulers."

"Oh muslims, The israeli election was the center of ineterest for some time in many of arab and muslim capitals. The rulers were bidding on Barak to win but what difference is there between Barak and Sharon? Haven't you read in the noble Quran "Strongest among men in enmity to the Believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the Believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant." Al'Maida (5:82). So there is no difference between Barak and Sharon. There is no difference between a Jewish leftist party and a jewish rightest party. The Jewish entity in the muslim land (i.e. Palestine) is considered ane enmity for Allah and his prophet Muhammad."

"Oh muslims, Our work should be for he sake of Allah "because nothing could they suffer or do, but was reckoned to their credit as a deed of righteousness, - whether they suffered thirst, or fatigue, or hunger, in the Cause of Allah, or trod paths to raise the ire of the Unbelievers, or received any injury whatever from an enemy - for Allah suffereth not the reward to be lost of those who do good." Al'Tawba (9:120). The work of the rulers is for the sake of their masters and the U.S. The reward, though, will not come from the negotiations but from fighting the enemies of Allah. No reward shall come to such people who are collaborating against al-Aqsa Mosque."

"Oh muslims, It should be known to all of us that the the U.S. is trying to stay the only dominant force in controlling this region. The U.S. has no consideration for ethics or good intentions. The U.S. wanted Sharon to win in order to isloate Israel, in order to perform pressure on her, and in order to confine Israels' influence in her small size. That's why the U.S. will support a Palestenian State along with U.N. troops between her and Israel."

"Oh muslims, It became obvious that the israeli public is not with giving the palestinians anything solid, that is why they vote for Sharon unanimously, and that's why the U.S. came up with the concept of islolating the jewish state. It is possible, though, to see some kind of acceptance from the U.S. to some kind of temporary arrangements for a transformation period as long as this arrangement is not final. "They plot and plan, and Allah too plans, but the best of planners is Allah."

"Oh muslims, What the U.S. is planning against us will not be stopped as long we have such corrupt and traitorous rulers over us. We should work hard to remove these rulers in order to establish in their place the islamic khilafah state."

"In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. I witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His messenger."

"O ye who believe! Fear Allah, and let every soul look to what (provision) he has sent forth for the morrow. Yea, fear Allah: for Allah is well acquainted with (all) that ye do" al-Hashr (59:18)

"Oh Muslims, Where the so-called peace process, in the Middle East, is going?"
"Clinton had gone. Is the new comer to the white house will be more wise than him? Many had greeted Barak when he came after Netanyahu, they shouted: Peace had come. They thought that he would end the conflict. But what did Barak do to us? The bloodshed that he is committing is still going up until this moment. The martyrs are falling. The Jews are planning the worst towards al-Aqsa Mosque."

"There is no difference between Barak and Sharon, or Clinton and Bush. Bush "the first" had slaughtered the people of Iraq, the children of Iraq are dying from Uranium. The Americans threw Uranium even in the Balkans. The weapons of the U.S. are destroying the human being, yet the U.S. still claim to be the protector of human rights in the world."

"Oh Muslims, The enemies of Islam may differ in tactics, but their strategies are all the same. They want to destroy the creed in this Ummah in order to eradicate the effect of Islam in the world, in order to exploit her natural resource and to take al-Aqsa Mosque."

"Do you think that Bush, the new U.S. president will ask the Jews to give up al-Aqsa mosque to the Muslims?"

"Do you think the son of the murderer of the Iraqi children and women will be better than his father? He is threatening to tighten the siege around Iraq."

"Yesterday I heard the Palestinian information minister on the TV commenting on the possibility that Sharon may win the Israeli elections, he said " If Sharon wins then this is the best prescription to the coming war in the Middle East". Does this man mean that Barak was or will be the best medicine? I am asking this information minister: "What is the difference between Sharon and Barak, or Netanyahu, or Begen, or Shameer, or Ben Gurion? They are all enemies to us. Allah says in his noble Quran "Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee unless thou follow their form of religion. Say: "The Guidance of Allah, that is the (only) Guidance," wert thou to follow their desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither Protector nor Helper against Allah." Al-Baqara (2:120)."

"Barak tried to improve his image through his appearance in aljazeera satellite channel in a private interview targetting arabs everywhere but this jewish leader insisted on the main issues and he was not successful in his dodge."

"Look how the so-called representatives of the people of Palestine are negotiating with the Jews while they, the Jews, are killing people. They are racing to end the case of Palestine."

"I am calling upon all the so-called representatives of Palestine to take their hands off al-Aqsa Mosque. I am calling them to stop this treason. If they are unable to fight the Jews then let them stand aside because the new comers are willing to destroy the jewish entity. The new comers under the Khalifah, insha'Allah, will destroy the rule of the disbelievers."

"I want to remind the Friday speaker that not only Jerusalem is the graveyard of the occupiers but also the rest of Palestine including what they call, the historical Palestine, which was occupied in 1948. The companions of prophet Muhammad opened the whole of Palestine so the blessings of this land are not confined to Jerusalem."

"In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. I witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His messenger."

"Now hath come unto you a Messenger from amongst yourselves: it grieves him that ye should perish: ardently anxious is he over you: to the Believers is he most kind and merciful. But if they turn away, say: "Allah sufficeth me; there is no god but He: on Him is my trust, - He the Lord of the Throne (of Glory) Supreme!" al-Tawba (9:128-129)."

"Oh Muslims, for how long will the misguided people continue to hinder (men) from the path of Allah?"

"For how long will the Muslims stay submissive to the agents of the imperialist disbelievers (i.e. the rulers)?For how long will cowardice and subservience stay on our (islamic) scholars?"

"For how long should we stay victims of a plot after a plot? Oh Muslims, We were afflicted, in the twentieth century, with two major calamities, one was the destruction of the Khilafah in 1924 by the imperialist disbelievers and their agents and hence Islam, from that time, became confined to mosques."

"The second major calamity was handing over Palestine to the Jews. In 1964 the conspiracy over Palestine had escalated. The beginning of the conspiracy was before that date when Britain brought the Jews to these lands. Now the the end of the conspiracy had come so they made up "al-Aqsa Intifada" in order to end the case of Palestine and to give the Jews the legitimate papers in order for them to become the new owners of Palestine."

"The rulers of the people of Palestine along with the rulers of Arabs and Muslims are all partners in this treason."

"I want to make it clear that: even if all the refugees had returned (which will not happen), even if the Jews gave up their call to take al-Aqsa Mosque (which they will not do), even if the Jews returned to 1967 borders (which they will not do), even if they did all of that there should be never peace with the Jews. If the conspiracy continues we will be committing two major mistakes; first we will be legitimizing the occupation of the Jews to Palestine, secondly we are canceling "Jihad"; as if we are omitting all phrases of Jihad in the noble Quran."

The Real Goal

"In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. I witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His messenge."

"Dear my brothers, I will not talk today about the on going perfecting the procedure to collaborate against al-Aqsa mosque, against Jerusalem, and against Palestine, this became obvious to all of us. But I will talk to you about something that people do not consider important as it should be, they may say that there nothing we can do about it. But it is the "only thing" that will stop the conspiracy. The existence of the Khalifah will enable Muslims to apply Islam fully and to liberate their occupied land, and to carry Islam to the whole world. All Muslims should know that they must work to appoint this khalifah. Almawirdy, a great Muslim scholar, once said, "Khilafah is to succeed prophithood, it is to protect the deen and to manage all aspects of life" Yet we hear some hypocrites or agents to the rulers who boast and say that why should we call for a khalifah, he is a normal man, the current rulers are better than him."

"Oh Muslims, I remind you to worship Allah not only through the month of Ramadan but also through the whole year. We call upon all of you to remember that this deen came to manage the affairs of all humans in all aspects of life and in order to make muslims the best Ummah ever evolved to mankind "Ye are the best of Peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had Faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have Faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors" Al-Imran (3:110)."

"Islam was never a religion confined within the boundaries of the Mosque. Islam is the complete system that Allah revealed to his slave prophet Muhammad. Allah says in his noble Quran "And this (He commands): judge thou between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, but beware of them lest they beguile thee from any of that (teaching) which Allah hath sent down to thee. And if they turn away, be assured that for some of their crimes it is Allah's purpose to punish them. And truly most men are rebellious". Al'Maida (5:49)"

"The Islamic state existed more that 1300 years. People from other states used to come to the Islamic Khilafah state to seek refuge from the injustice of their rulers."

The Conspiracy against al-Aqsa Mosque

"Oh Muslims, May Allah accept your worships during this month of Ramadhan."
"Here we are at the end of the month of Ramadhan and we see around us grief and pain. We see scoundrels who are trying to clean up their history by ending the issue of Palestine. Clinton is trying to clear his shameful history (which is full of scandals), he is suggesting that the Jews take the bottom part of al-Aqsa Mosque and al'Buraq yard (which the Jews call the Wailing Wall) along with few neighborhoods of Jerusalem. But did Clinton in his plan specify the boundaries of the suggested Palestinian state?"

"Did he talk about the kind of sovereignty on offer for this state? Did Clinton mention how he is going to solve the issue of the return of millions of refugees? Did he specify how he is going to end the conflict?"

"Dear brothers, what Clinton is offering is only propaganda for himself (as he is preparing to leave office) and it is propaganda also for "the falling" Barak. We believe that the Americans are trying to push for Barak against Sharon in the coming Israeli elections but he will lose. What is the difference anyway - between Barak and Sharon?"

"It is the same as the difference between Netanyahu and Barak (which is nothing), they are all the same!"

"Oh Muslims, It is time for us to wake up from this insanity that the rulers are trying make us live in. Look at Mubarak of Egypt how he works to sponsor and promote the Americans plans for the region. The so-called "Custodian of the two Holy Mosques" King Fahd of Arabia is doing the same. Clinton has called these agents along with King Muhammad V of Morocco to exert pressure on Arafat to accept the American's plans."

"Oh Muslims, Clinton is a Christian disbeliever and Barak is a Jewish disbeliever and Allah says in his Noble Quran, "Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee unless thou follow their form of religion. "Praise to Allah that the imperialist disbelievers along with their agents have reached al-Aqsa Mosque in their conspiracy. Once they have reached this point then Allah will destroy them. Whoever tries to harm this Mosque, Allah will destroy him Insha'Allah (Ameen)."

The night of al'Qadr

"In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful."
"I witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His messenger."

"Oh Muslims, here we are in the last Friday of Ramadan for this year, and here we are in front of the night of al'Qadr, which is better than one thousand month."

"The conspiracies against Muslims are increasing especially against the Muslims in Palestine and the Muslims in Algiers. We Muslims are like orphans without the khalifah who is the leader and the ruler of all Muslims."

"Look how in the holy month of Ramadan children are being killed; the bloodshed of Muslims is all over. Yet some are still go to Washington to negotiate with the Jews."

"Oh Muslims, wake up the Jews are now offering what they call a real solution to the Palestinian case. They offer this solution while they are killing us in order to be the last knife that will end the life of this case. And the one who is hosting the negotiations is the American president Clinton whose history files are full of scandals and shame. Does he think that he can whiten his history pages if he claimed to solve the "middle east crisis" in his last days in the white house?"

"Actually what the Americans and behind them the Jews are offering is not a real sovereignty because they will have control over the borders and control over Jerusalem. How can they "The rulers in the Palestinian national authority" think that they have sovereignty if they have it over the yards in al-Aqsa Mosque but they don't have it beneath al-Aqsa Mosque?"

"They don't have full control over their borders with the neighboring countries! They can't allow the 6 million refugees to return to their homelands. Yet they are willing to sign the final agreement to legalize the existence of Israel forever."

"There are coming elections in Israel and this maneuver from Barak and Arafat in these days came to push Barak forward against his rival Sharon. Sharon is from the Likud Party, which is against any giving up parts of East Jerusalem besides other issues. The Americans and Arafat are working to help Barak to win the coming elections in Israel but this depends on reaching a coming agreement, which we don't think it will be reached as we had said in the past. The issue of the fate of Jerusalem is bigger than them all. I swear by Allah that this land and this Mosque will not be liberated except by Jihad which will fulfill the prophecy that we will fight the Jews: we in the eastern part of the river and they on the western past until the stone and the tree will call the Muslim soldier: Oh slave of Allah there is a Jew behind me come and kill him."

"The ones who obey the Americans and the French more than they obey Allah will soon know that they are following an illusion, they will fail and all their work will go in vain."

"Oh Muslims, in this Friday and from this Mosque I call upon the Muslims in the armies in the Muslim world to stand up, to overthrow their corrupt traitorous rulers and to establish the Islamic state. May Allah help us May Allah help the workers to glorify his deen."

Al-Aqsa and the conspiring rulers

"Oh Muslims, look at our situation in Palestine today. We begin the day carrying our victims and end the day taking them to their graves. Who will take revenge for the mothers of our martyrs?"

"Here in Palestine, some of us do not find food to break our fast with, and some may have just a piece of bread and a drop of olive oil. Oh Muslims, Haven't you read the Quran when Allah tells Muslims "if they seek your aid in religion, it is your duty to help them" al'Anfal (8:72). Do you think it is enough to call for a boycot on American and Israeli products?"

"The Palestinian leadership has not stopped meeting with the Israelis as if Ben Ami (the Israeli foreign minister) is a cousin or a relative whom we must maintain close relations with especially in the month of Ramadan. In front of Allah, I disassociate my self from every traitorous ruler or military ruler in the Muslim world. Look how the Muslim scholar has refused to put full responsibility on the military leaders for the need for change in the situation of the Muslim Ummah. The innocent people who are killed every day need a force to stop the injustice. They do not need negotiators but fighters. But the Muslim scholar insists that the military people are employees and hence they do not assume any responsibility for the required change. But I ask that Muslim scholar: For Allah's sake how will the Islamic Khilafah state be re-established?"

"How are we supposed to fight all the imperialist disbelievers? How are we to liberate al-Aqsa Mosque and all of Palestine? How are we to feed the hungry and cure the injured? Do you know what the Arab summit, which was held recently to support the Intifada, did to support the Intifada?"

"The Egyptian ruling regime donated a few millions alongside another Arab countries and that was really it."

"These regimes are puppets for the imperialist west that fully supports Israel. Do you know what the same Muslim scholar said about the recent attack on the US naval warship in Yemen?"

"He said in one of the interviews on an Arabic satellite channel that he prefers to confine our resistance to inside Palestine and only against Israel!! "

"I am asking this scholar: Are you afraid of telling the truth? Are you afraid that these Arab satellite channels may refuse to host your program if you said the truth? Or are you afraid that the rulers might stop your salary?"

"Oh Muslims, Such Muslim scholars should be afraid more of Allah. They should not stop enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil."

"I am calling such Muslim scholars along with the current rulers to fear Allah more than anything else. It should be clear that the rulers hold the first responsibility for the deterioration of the situation of Muslims. I am asking them to return to Allah and if they refused then "for such there will be a Penalty grievous." Ash-shura (42:42)."

"Oh Muslims, do you know that the Jews currently have two synagogues under al-Aqsa Mosque. That was "secretly" agreed upon with the Palestinian Rulers."

"Finally I call all of you brothers to help each other and to support the needy all around the territories especially in the refugee camps and Allah will be with you. Allah will take revenge on the unjust through His faithful soldiers."

"The imposed siege by the Jews will convert our children to lions that will tear them apart Insha'Allah. "So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief: Verily, with every difficulty there is relief." Al'Sharh (94:5-6)."

"Allah has promised us His victory! Allah will liberate this Mosque! Allah will enable His sincere Muslim believers to re-establish the Islamic state soon. It will destroy the disbelievers and their supporters. "Or do ye think that ye shall enter the Garden (of Bliss) without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They encountered suffering and adversity, and were so shaken in spirit that even the Messenger and those of faith who were with him cried: "When (will come) the help of Allah "ah! verily, the help of Allah is (always) near!". Al'Baqara (:2:214). Ameen"

Where the Khilafah may take off

"In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.I witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His messenger."

"Dear Muslims, Here we are in the second Friday of Ramadan 1421 in this Mosque where the collaborators are trying to divide it between us and the Jews. Who will liberate this Mosque? There was an authenticated hadeeth narrated by Ali, the cousin of the prophet: Ali stood once to deliver a speech when one of the Arab leaders, al'Asha'th ibnu Qays, objected the existence of many Muslims non-Arabs surrounding the Khalifah Ali. So Ali replied that these Muslims non-Arabs are more active for this deen than the Arabs and then he narrated a hadeeth that he heard prophet Muhammad saying that "they" will force "you" for this deen the same way that "you" did for "them" on the first time. It might mean that the second emergence of the Islamic Khilafah state will not be from within the Arab world. Once the Khilafah state is established it will carry out her work to unify the Muslim land and then the Arab rulers will fight her. Palestinian Official Television Broadcasts call for Killing Jews and Americans

Following are excerpts from a sermon given Friday, October 13, in the Zayed bin Sultan Aal Nahyan mosque in Gaza, broadcast live on the official Palestinian Authority television. The speaker is Dr. Ahmad Abu Halabiya, Member of the PA appointed "Futwa Council" and former acting Rector of the Islamic University in Gaza:

"None of the Jews refrain from committing any possible evil. If the Labor party commits the evil and the crime, the Likud party stands by it; and if the Likud party commits the evil and the crime, the Labor party stands by it? The Jews are Jews, whether Labor or Likud? They do not have any moderates or any advocates of peace. They are all liars. They all want to distort truth, but we are in possession of the truth."

"O brother believers, the criminals, the terrorists are the Jews, who have butchered our children, orphaned them, widowed our women and desecrated our holy places and sacred sites. They are the terrorists. Official PA TV Calls For Destruction of Israel, US, UK By Julie Stahl

A week after a Palestinian suicide bomber killed himself and 20 Israelis at a Tel Aviv disco and days after Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat called for a ceasefire, the official PA television broadcast a sermon calling for suicide bombings and the destruction of Israel, the United States, and Britain.

But U.S. and Israeli officials expressed no surprise on Thursday, saying these kinds of incitements were common.

"These things happen frequently," said U.S. Embassy spokesman Larry Schwartz. "There are enemies of peace in the region. It's not surprising that they are also enemies of the United States."
However, such threats are "immaterial," he added, because the relationship between Israel and the U.S. is strong and they "stand together" in the region. He did not comment on the fact that the sermon was broadcast on the PA's official TV.

"This is the usual phenomenon of incitement that we're talking about," said Israeli Foreign Ministry deputy spokeswoman Amira Oron.

Such incitement is not unique to Islamic religious leaders in the PA but is also spread through the media and children's schoolbooks, Oron said. It is also common throughout the Middle East, she added.
There was no immediate comment from the British Embassy in Tel Aviv.

We had read an article for the WHO (World Health Organization) that talks about the wide spread of AIDS in Africa, some reports talk about more than 80% of the inhabitants in some areas are infected with this deadly disease. If we add to that other wide spread deadly diseases and shortage of food and medicine then we will deduce that the Western imperialist forces want the African land empty from its people in order to able to exploit its resources freely. This is the situation of the African continent , which is similar to most parts of the world, under the rule of capitalism and the rule of the disbelieving western imperialist forces.

As if history is repeating itself, the situation of the world just before the emergence of the Islamic message is similar to the situation of the world today where injustice is everywhere.

How to liberate Jerusalem

The Jerusalem Post reports (3 May) that Ikrameh Sabri, the PLO-appointed Mufti of Jerusalem, called for Moslems to wage a holy war to capture Jerusalem. In an interview with the London-based Arabic daily, Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Sabri said, "Jerusalem is under occupation and the Moslems of the world should liberate it by jihad... The jihad is not just a war jihad - we are talking about all means to get back Jerusalem."
